Gu She is a cold, intelligent, and well-educated lawyer. He starts out with indifferent feelings towards the new magistrate Tao Mo in town but through solving many cases together, they gradually develop feelings. What he doesn’t know: the new magistrate is illiterate, and his post was bought through money. Described as naive and well-meaning, he only likes to stare at pretty boys. Throughout their journey, he also unveils secrets behind his father’s death. A love triangle is formed when his old lover Emperor Wen of Chen appears half-way into the story.

Four Corners is Australia's longest-running investigative journalism/current affairs television program. Broadcast on ABC1 in Australia, it premiered on 19 August 1961 and celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2021. Founding producer Robert Raymond and his successor Allan Ashbolt did much to set the ongoing tone of the program. Based on the Panorama concept, the program addresses a single issue in depth each week, showing either a locally produced program or a relevant documentary from overseas. The program has won many awards for investigative journalism, and broken many high-profile stories. A notable early example of this was the show's epoch-making 1962 exposé on the appalling living conditions endured by many Aboriginal Australians living in rural New South Wales.

Kathy's So-Called Reality is a television clip show that aired in 2001, hosted by comedian and former Suddenly Susan star Kathy Griffin. The show was "part monologue, part round-table", featuring Griffin discussing clips from a variety of reality TV shows the week prior with a panel of family and friends. According to Griffin, the reality shows, even the "scandal-plagued" Temptation Island, "amazingly" contributed clips to be mocked. The show premiered on MTV February 4, 2001, and ended on April 1, 2001 after only six episodes; MTV did not renew the show, due to low ratings. USA Today columnist Whitney Matheson wrote that the show "seemed to be struggling for content," and "all the good jokes are taken by the time Kathy's weekly rant sees airtime."
