The parents and children live together in one house. Week to week, the teams work on various performance-related challenges. The show consists of eight episodes, with one team sent home at the end of each episode. The team that wins the final competition is awarded $50,000 and a one-year contract for the child with a Hollywood agent. An Australian version, titled My Kid's a Star and also featuring Bonaduce, began airing in April 2008.
