In its first year, the theatre, which started in 2009, dealt with the early stages of a man's life in the monocomedy "The Husband", in which Jan Uuspõld explored in depth the differences between men and women. In March 2010, Monoteater staged the monocomedy "The Father", which took the audience into the sometimes crazy period of a young man's life, when a big change is about to take place - a baby is about to be born into the family. In April 2012, the audience was introduced to the next important stage in the man's life - a man and a father about to become a grandfather.

Soon they're off to New York together, but part ways once they arrive. Time passes and Eddie is failing to sell his play; Perry is failing to find a job. Odd circumstances, involving an old pickpocket named Mandy, bring them together again.

Germany is in uproar; the new government has adopted a law which enables a government-controlled censorship. Media and cultural facilities are being inspected. The theatre house of Jan Reeberger is one of the inspected institutions. During the inspection two different world views collide, on the one side, there’s Jan with his idealistic and cosmopolitan worldview, on the other side, there’s Micky who is standing up for the new political system.

Based on the novel by Jáchym Topol. Potok works as a set designer in a small theater. He is in his thirties and his life is essentially going nowhere. He views his surroundings and himself with contempt. His aimless life only changes when he meets Černá. The couple in love escapes from the city. Inevitably, however, they once again encounter human calculation, shallowness, and bad taste. Potok falls back into his former skepticism, which leads to the total breakdown of their relationship. Černá leaves him, and a desperate Potok slowly comes to a more conciliatory attitude toward the world, where there is no longer any place for great love and dark romance. Unlike Jáchym Topol's literary work of the same name, which takes place during the three years after 1989, the film ignores the time frame. It focuses on the hero's internal conflicts, which are timeless.
