10 Postcards from HAMASEN(zh)

Leave all the messages for the future⋯ Hamasen is one of the first modernization regions. Since the Japanese colonization era, there had been many scenic postcards recording images of Hamasen. Some of the architectures still remained in the same places as they had been in the postcards. Over hundreds of years, this piece of reclaimed land carries memories of fishing men, customs declarers, and local elders from generations to generations. Sceneries in people's memories intertwine with different time layers of maps of Hamasen. What kinds of messages do we intend to leave for the next generation?

Growing Young(en)

Minks, 16, is living with her Nan who has dementia. Unaware of what Dementia really is, Minks is trying to understand the severity of her Nan’s forgetfulness. The two women share a unique bond, despite their generational gap, which is highlighted by Nan’s good sense of humour. However it’s only a matter of time till Minks is forced to realise she can no longer care for her Nan on her own.

Doll House is the story of an 11-year-old runaway who arrives at a care home with her only possession a dolls house. She refuses to speak and won’t ever let go of her doll. The other children tease her. People start to disappear and seem to appear as tiny dolls inside the doll house. An evil entity haunts the doll and doll house and is collecting the souls of the children for its ultimate cause, to be alive.

Through seven scenes, the film follows the life and destinies of stray dogs from the margins of our society, leading us to reconsider our attitude towards them. Through the seven “wandering” characters that we follow at different ages, from birth to old age, we witness their dignified struggle for survival. At the cemetery, in an abandoned factory, in an asylum, in a landfill, in places full of sorrow, our heroes search for love and togetherness. By combining documentary material, animation and acting interpretation of the thoughts of our heroes, we get to know lives between disappointment and hope, quite similar to ours.
