A Trip on the Ice(de)

The two best buddies Ernst and Albert are pursuing the same girl. The girl leads them onto the ice in the form of an ice rink, where the two act awkwardly as non-skaters. But even on the ice rink, neither of them wants to give in, and the fight for the girl becomes increasingly intense. Suddenly, the girl's enraged groom appears and puts an abrupt and powerful end to the duel. This decision, imposed by a third party, leads to the two fighting cocks Ernst and Albert reconciling. After Matti is stabbed to death at his own wedding, Eero of Ojelmiston becomes a suspect, presumed to have avenged his recently deceased wife. Eero escapes with the help of a court judge but surrenders after his mother gets into trouble. At the courthouse, the priest admits that Vieremä Jaska confessed to the crime on his deathbed. The film has survived, but without subtitles.

This does not prevent the artist from asking for the girl's hand from the town councilor Kanno, who accepts his friend's request. Kanto stresses, however, that the final decision is up to his daughter.

Out of the three-part burlesque, the only surviving one is the one called Pufi would buy a pair of shoes, with Hungarian inserts. The film is shot on a real-life location, in a Budapest shoe shop, and it portrays the mutual efforts of a puny sales assistant and Pufi, the bladder-of-lard customer, to find him a suitable pair of shoes. The content of the other two parts is not known.
