But Moonbase Commander John Koenig, having undergone an experimental brain soothing process after receiving a concussion in a crash on the Lunar surface, sees not friends from Earth but gruesome monsters which have telepathically caused all others on Alpha to see an illusion of an Earth party. The aliens are desperate for radiation and plan to manipulate the Alphans into detonating nuclear waste on the Lunar surface, reducing the Moon and everyone on it to dust. The spaceship AAB-Gamma is dispatched from FAFC headquarters in Japan to make a landing on the planet Mars and investigate reports of UFOs in the area. As they near the red planet, they encounter a mysterious UFO that coats the ship's hull with unusual spores. Taking one of the specimens back to earth, it soon develops and grows into a giant chicken-lizard-alien monster that tramples Japan.

The film is a sequel of sorts to Toho's THE MYSTERIANS in the reprise of the Etsuko Shiraishi character of that film as its heroine. It was edited to 74 minutes for its American release.

Dr. Lance Krauss warns that the gas may cause paranoia and hallucinations. Ava brings a sample of the meteor for analysis and Dr. Krauss finds that there are spores attached to the meteor. Ava accidentally cuts her finger in a sample but she hides the cut from the doctor. Soon Ava gets pregnant and delivers an alien offspring. However, neither Col. Brauchman nor Dr. Kraus believes in her words and they believe that Ava is delusional. He offspring bites the crewman Bruce Johns and the crew discovers that Bruce has been cloned by the alien. Soon they find how dangerous the clone is.

The Pompano Boys- two inept and pathless hooligans- have slid into an underbelly of crime syndicates in Pompano far over their heads, getting involved in a conspiracy that goes all the way to the top of the military, and beyond. With their friend Eliot now kidnapped, they show up uninvited to their former friend Max's place, where he is having a wonderful gender reveal party. They try to convince him that his boss- Dr. Sam Enshorts- is partner in the conspiracy, and that they watched him commit murder, but Max forcefully asks them to leave, thinking they are just jealous of his new life without them. Before they can exit, however, Dr. Sam cajoles them into a high stakes dart game, which leads to them accidentally popping the gender revealing balloon all over Max, humiliating him publicly, and causing Dr. Sam to lose a critical piece of software, so now he too wants the Pompano Boys dead.
