In the 1990s, a small city in the south named Binhai suffered a series of heinous and brutal robberies. Xu Zhengyang, an upright police officer from the north, came to Binhai to support Song Hai, the local criminal investigation team leader, in solving the case. The gangster group headed by Zhuang Zhiqiang, who was arrogant in their abilities and brutal attributes, each gave full play to their strengths. After a battle of wits and courage, the two finally annihilated the gangster group headed by Zhuang Zhiqiang in one fell swoop.

The film is made in the Dogme95 tradition, so no costumes, no lighting, no props or sets, which gives the film a gritty texture appropriate to the story.

Demonstrations between the population and the police are now a daily occurrence. Thomas and Vera are also unemployed. The only way out of their predicament is to move out of the city and rent an abandoned farm. The sale of food is banned. Military forces arrive to confiscate what little they have. Later, the city population follows, traveling to the countryside in panic to secure something to eat.

Naamkaran is a hindi word and it means The Naming and used in context of naming a child. Naamkaran tells the story of two sisters – one a pickpocket and the other a teacher by profession. Shot in Kolkata in winter, it follows the journey of the two sisters as their worlds collide to make ends meet. The teacher is looking for a good name for her son. She rejects names suggested by her pickpocket sister and ill father. It is interesting to see how she finalizes the name of her kid. Sen Sharma handles the quirky subject with a degree of authority, choosing not to dwell on drama and allowing events to narrate the story.

All the feature is given prestige to by the narration in Caetano Veloso's voice, that also signs one of the segments of the project. São Paulo is the largest city of the Southern Hemisphere, with an incessant dynamics of cultural mixtures, with immigrants of all the world and migrants of all parts of Brazil. The gathering of these peculiarities are seen through the 13 film directors's sensibilities and their segments.
