Celtic Tides is a musical and cultural journey from the Old World to the New. It celebrates the best of Celtic music and explores todays vibrant Celtic music and dance scene through 13 exciting performances and many fascinating interviews. Travel to Ireland, Scotland and Eastern Canada to visit artists such as the Chieftains, Loreena McKennitt, Clannad, Mary Black, Altan, Ashley MacIsacc, Natalie MacMaster, The Rankin Family, Capercaillie, Dougie MacLean, Solas, Mary Jane Lamond and Old Blind Dogs. These interviews and performances are filmed against the dramatic backdrops of beautiful rugged landscapes, ancient Celtic ruins and windswept ocean shores, revealing the connection between the music and the lands where the music originates.
Barbara is a filmmaker who has been working in the prison environment for a few years now. She is preparing a film written and directed by long-term inmates in a prison in the projects around Paris. Twice a week, Barbara goes to the prison where she shoots interviews with the inmates which will serve as a basis for the writing of their screenplay.
