Sense and Sensibility(en)

The Dashwood sisters, sensible Elinor and passionate Marianne, whose chances at marriage seem doomed by their family's sudden loss of fortune. When Henry Dashwood dies unexpectedly, his estate must pass on by law to his son from his first marriage, John and wife Fanny. But these circumstances leave Mr. Dashwood's current wife, and daughters Elinor, Marianne and Margaret, without a home and with barely enough money to live on. As Elinor and Marianne struggle to find romantic fulfillment in a society obsessed with financial and social status, they must learn to mix sense with sensibility in their dealings with both money and men.

During the War of 1812 against Britain: General Andrew Jackson has only 1,200 men left to defend New Orleans when he learns that a British fleet will arrive with 60 ships and 16,000 men to take the city. In this situation an island near the city becomes strategically important to both parties, but it's inhabited by the last big buccaneer: Jean Lafitte. Although Lafitte never attacks American ships, the governor hates him for selling merchandise without taxes - and is loved by the citizens for the same reason. When the big fight gets nearer, Lafitte is drawn between the fronts. His heart belongs to America, but his people urge him to join the party that's more likely to win.

Surely though, he was way ahead of his times.

This is a romantic biographical film about Franz Liszt. In a distinguished saloon of Paris, the unknown composer, Liszt, defeats the renown Thalberg at a piano competition. Through his playing, he wins the favours and later the hand of the countess D'Agoult. A daughter is born in their marriage, Cosima. Liszt is better and better known, Marie introduces him to the circle of artists.

Billy Kuckuck - Einmal so wie ich das will(de)

Billy Kuckuck is used to taking unpopular measures. But she is not used to switching off her mind in the process. For this reason, the assignment to collect the debt on a personal loan from the family of a recently deceased farmer leaves her anything but cold. The lender is Mr. Röschke, neighbor of the organic farm and also a farmer. His rigorous demand for repayment threatens to drive farmer Tanja Pohlmann to complete ruin. After the death of her husband, who had taken out the loan without consulting her, the mother is already at the end of her tether and no longer able to run the property. Her son Niklas sacrificially takes care of all the daily chores on the farm. In doing so, he neglects school and jeopardizes his A-levels. And nine-year-old Sophie feels obliged to stand in for her mother in the farm store instead of going to school. Of course, Billy is not indifferent to the fate of the organic farm. She is determined to help the Pohlmann family, but where can she start?

Much of the movie is filmed using hand-held cameras, and the majority of the dialogue is in the difficult-to-understand and very slangy Spanish dialect of Mexico City's bricklayers.
