In an interview with the American Songwriter magazine, he stated that when he was a kid he started playing guitar because he liked to put words together and make stuff up. After a few EPs, his major debut studio album came in 2011 titled "Every Kingdom". 2013 was the year for fame, winning both Brit Awards for which he was nominated: British Breakthrough Act and British Solo male Artist. In this concert, you will see that the gentle surfer is full of surprises! Beneath the laid-back exterior lies a solid musical background, with major references to John Martyn. He continues to hone his song-writing skills.

This New Year’s Eve programme revolves around Act III, in which Princess Aurora is brought out of her long sleep by the prince of her dreams and marries him. In addition, prima ballerina Uliana Lopatkina dances Camille Saint-Saëns’ famous Dying Swan, first performed by Anna Pavlova. In conclusion the soloists of the Mariinsky Theatre’s Young Singers’ Academy perform the finale of Rossini’s Journey to Rheims in a joyous celebration of the coming of the New Year.

Elaine Paige: I’m Still Here is a special concert that was filmed at London’s prestigious Royal Albert Hall, and features ‘The First Lady of British Musical Theatre’, with the 60-piece BBC Concert Orchestra. Full of great musical moments, Elaine performs musical numbers from some of the highlights of her extraordinary career, which saw her originating the roles of Eva Perón in Evita, Grizabella in Cats and Florence in Chess.
