Ann Dickson's newly wealthy parents become obsessed with breaking into society, but the young misfit is more interested in studying modern slang and wearing outrageous outfits. She tolerates but does not love "Freddie" Pierson, the useless young playboy her parents have selected for her. On a downtown jaunt, Ann slightly injures a newsboy in a car accident and in this way meets policeman Carey Phelan. She invites him to an outing she has organized for the boy and his pals, and the two fall in love. Ann's parents follow her to the picnic, and after a series of misunderstandings, everyone winds up in jail. Carey reveals to Ann that he is a millionaire's son who, tired of wasting his life, had joined the police force. The chief of police, an old friend of the Phelan family, holds the outraged parents in custody while Ann and Carey sneak away to get married.

Billy loses the fight and sends his dog to avenge him, which scares Jack. Later on the beach, Jack leaves his four-year-old sweetheart, Olive, to buy ice cream. Billy approaches Olive and she leaves with him, his dog, and baby Mary. When Jack returns, Olive tells him she prefers Billy, making Jack angry and eager to get Billy "in wrong at home". Jack finds an opportunity when baby Mary crawls away near some rocks, and he hides her.

They are arrested but are released after it is found they were importing molasses - but Miriam has to promise to marry Sam Berkowitz to secure the release. Jimmy and both fathers are unhappy with this turn of events. This film is lost.

War hero Captain November Jones tries to sneak into his hometown of Gold City, Nevada undetected but when he rescues a child from being run over by a train he’s recognized and obliged to receive the town's congratulations. Meanwhile, unscrupulous stockbroker Samuel Barnes and adventuress Teddy Craig are trying to get control of the Bluebird Lode from New Yorker Jackson J. Joseph, who is coming West to meet his daughter Nedra. Teddy tries to ensnare November to help fight Joseph, claiming he's trying to take her mine, but he refuses. Teddy's accusation of Jones's cowardice does not bother him until he falls in love with Nedra, who shuns him, believing Teddy's rumor. When Mr. Joseph is kidnapped and Jones saves him Nedra learns the truth and agrees to marry him.
