8.0X-ray images were invented in 1895, the same year in which the Lumière brothers presented their respective invention in what today is considered to be the first cinema screening. Thus, both cinema and radiography fall within the scopic regime inaugurated by modernity. The use of X-rays on two sculptures from the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum generates images that reveal certain elements of them that would otherwise be invisible to our eyes. These images, despite being generally created for technical or scientific purposes, seem to produce a certain form of 'photogénie': they lend the radiographed objects a new appearance that lies somewhere between the material and the ethereal, endowing them with a vaporous and spectral quality. It is not by chance that physics and phantasmagoria share the term 'spectrum' in their vocabulary.
6.8In 1992 – 500 years after the beginning of Spain's global empire with the discovery of America – Spain proudly presented itself to the international community as a modern, developed, dynamic country through the Olympic Games in Barcelona and the Expo in Seville. But for filmmaker Luis López Carrasco (1981, Murcia), 1992 was also the year in which the regional parliament building in Cartagena was razed during furious protests against the threatened closure of various local industries. El año del descubrimiento revives this almost forgotten history in a typical Spanish bar in Cartagena, where different generations come together to drink, eat, smoke and talk. Stories from witnesses, demonstrators and strikers from back then and discussions among younger café visitors on themes such as class consciousness, the economic crisis and the role of unions percolate to the surface amidst talk of other life issues.

Wild sex, fetish, and kink culture has never been so prevalent in the mainstream. Sex work is all over social media, musicians use kink as an aesthetic, and porn stars are becoming celebrities. This commodification is trying to water down and hijack what is a truly rebellious and alternative scene for the sexual misfits of society. As the astroturfed mainlining of girl boss fetish content spreads, there exists another world that stays true to the origins of extreme kink / fetish culture. Specifically in Britain, a more underground and loosely connected scene is thriving. They want to keep kink raw and real. These people, however, are being derailed by new laws and thieving creators. Away Days spent months exploring this sexual fetish underground. This will shock you.

0.0For some, the darkest mechanisms of the Internet have been a curse, as in the most serious cases of revenge porn that have occupied the pages of national newspapers in recent years, while for others the sharing of one's own individual experience has become a means of daily confrontation with those who have a similar life path or simply for a progressive normalization of life stories much more common than we believe. In this documentary film girls and guys talk about their sexual sphere on social networks, some in a way more playful, others making it an art, still others for informational purposes, while some even built a career. Thanks to each of their points of view, an overall picture of the relationship between sexuality and the internet emerges for the new generations.
