
Happy Ever After(1999)
Overview
Happy Ever After is a 1999 Hong Kong grand-production television period drama. A TVB production, the drama was produced by Chong Wai-kin, written by Chan Ching-yee and Choi Ting-ting, and stars an ensemble cast. The drama is set during the reign of the Qianlong Emperor of Late Imperial China's Qing dynasty. The drama tells of a story regarding the struggles of a poor chef and his best friend earning an opportunity to serve the Qianlong Emperor, also befriending the emperor along the way. The drama also places an emphasis on Chinese cuisine with documentations concerning the Manchu Han Imperial Feast. Happy Ever After acclaimed positive reviews from critics and was TVB's third highest-rating drama of 1999, peaking to 40 points. Happy Ever After was re-broadcast on the same channel in 2007 between January and March.

Despite that he has a large crush on the most feared and violent girl in school-Nanako Momoi, who seems fragile and cute, until she opens her mouth. One day, Uehara is made to go to Momoi's house where he meets her mad scientist grandfather and unwillingly becomes the test subject for one of his machines. Accidentally, Momoi alsogets tangled in the experiment and the two end up switching bodies. To make matters worse Momoi in Uehara's body breaks the machine (which will cost 2mil. yen to fix) as she would like more time in this body thus beginning their world full of debts and troubles.

A young man named Akitsu Masato is captured by a secret govt. project known as "Last Guardian". The Last Guardian is preparing for the resurrection of "Hau Dragon", an organization bent on world conquest. 15 years ago, Hau Dragon built 8 great robots. Each of the mecha represents a force of nature. However, before any of the robots could be used, their creater Kihara Masaki destroyed the robots except for the leader: Zeorymer. He took Zeorymer and an embryo to the government. The embryo became the boy Masato. Now, Hau Dragon has rebuilt the other 7 mecha and wants the 8th. It will be up to Masato and Himuro to pilot Zeorymer and fight against the Hau Dragon, but neither Masato or Himuro are all that they seem.
