7.0In this exciting concert appearance, Sheryl Crow powerfully demonstrates why she is one of today's truly distinctive voices. Uncompromising, open, witty, sardonic and surprising, Sheryl hooks the listener immediately with music that's both reflective and compulsively catchy. Leading a group of top-rate musicians, Sheryl digs into the classic hits that rocketed her to stardom, including "Strong Enough" and "All I Wanna Do," and explores troubled romance in songs from her GRAMMY Award-winning 'The Globe Sessions', her most personal album yet. Sheryl Crow firmly stakes out her place in rock history as she continues to grow as an artist, delighting and invigorating her fans with her seemingly endless talent.
5.9Few bands are more closely associated with Montreux than Deep Purple and there was simply no other contender when it came to choosing the act to headline the closing night of the 40th Montreux Festival in 2006. The band duly delivered one of their finest live performances, sprinkling songs from their latest album "Rapture Of The Deep" through a set chock full of their classic tracks. There was even a brand new song "Too Much Fun" written especially for the occasion and, of course, a show-stopping performance of "Smoke On The Water".

10.0A brief, poetic 16mm film on a simple sculptural action. What becomes apparent is the humor possible in material interactions and the tender and sometimes melodramatic symbolism of cut flowers. What begins as a reverence for natural beauty ends up pointing towards the abstract expressionism and color field work of high modernism which, in many cases eschewed the banality of such 'natural' beauty. The collaged soundtrack suggests weightier concerns, gently insistent behind the flatness of the utilitarian sounds of ripping tape.
4.7This is the only feature directed by the famed French painter and sculptor Martial Raysse. In keeping with the revolutionary spirit of the time, the movie has no plot to speak of and appears to have been largely made up on the spot. We follow the cat man into a bizarre fantasy universe presented in negative exposure that reverses color values (black is white and vice versa) and written words. The cat man steals a car and then picks up a young girl he promises to take to “Heaven.” Heaven turns out to be a country chateau inhabited by several more animal mask wearing weirdoes...
