A fight over the calf of a prize milk cow in the close-knit and traditional Pas Valley of Cantabria leaves a cantankerous dairy farmer dead and another fearful of arrest. He and his daughter Val conspire to keep the cause of death quiet, but tensions mount when Val becomes attracted to the dead farmer's son, Rai, estranged from his father and now a hairdresser in the city. The tensions open long-festering family resentments and spur the lurid imagination of Val's younger sister, the teen Genia. "What goes unsaid, gets undone," the Pasiegos say, but is it true? In the middle of a broadcast about Typhoon Yolanda's initial impact, reporter Jiggy Manicad was faced with the reality that he no longer had communication with his station. They were, for all intents and purposes, stranded in Tacloban. With little option, and his crew started the six hour walk to Alto, where the closest broadcast antenna was to be found. Letting the world know what was happening to was a priority, but they were driven by the need to let their families and friends know they were all still alive. Along the way, they encountered residents and victims of the massive typhoon, and with each step it became increasingly clear just how devastating this storm was. This was a storm that was going to change lives.

These tragedies seem to occur more frequently, with politicians seemingly inactive. This changed on Valentine’s Day 2018, when a shooting at MSD High School in Parkland, Florida, killed 14 students and three faculty members. In response, young people organised the largest gun violence protests since the Vietnam War, demanding stricter gun laws and a ban on AR-15 rifles. Director Sebastian Bellwinkel documented this movement. While mass shootings are a significant issue, they account for only 1% of the 30,000 gun-related deaths annually. Some states have altered gun laws due to the protests, but the conservative Trump administration’s stance on making firearms harder to access remains unclear.

The stamps are of special value only when they are unseparated. Metaphorically, "tête-bêche" can precisely reflected the portrayed family's tricky situation, that different role-plays or value judgments can lead to sparkling tension among family members, yet somehow the old saying of "blood is thicker than water" prevails.
