The "Mario & Zelda Big Band Live" concert was held on September 14th, 2003, at the Nihon Seinenkan Hall in Tokyo, Japan. The DVD recording of this event was bundled with the Japanese gaming magazine "Nintendo Dream" vol. 101. Mario & Zelda Big Band Live was, as the name suggests, live performances of Mario and Zelda music arranged into jazz, Latin, country, and bluegrass. The host, Ashura Benimaru Itoh, started off the concert with an awesome guitar arrangement of the Super Mario Bros. "main theme" and "underworld theme." While the great punk-rock moment that the Sex Pistols created and owned in the mid-1970’s was brief and fleeting, this concert shows that punk rock – and the band that made it famous – will never die. A searing evening of wild music.

Liza also sings two songs from her recent Tony winning Broadway show "The Act" - a song and dance number called "Arthur in the Afternoon," with Roger Minami and the show-stopping "City Lights" with Minami and dancer Obba Babatunde. Another highlight is a medley of New York songs sung by Minnelli which culminates in one of signature songs "Theme from New York, New York". The evening concludes with Minnelli singing performing a scene from "Cabaret"; and singing "Cabaret," "Harvest Moon," and "The World Goes Round."

The album title roughly translates to "A Men's Farewell: December 28th, 1998", a reference to the tour name to bassist Yuzuru Kashiwabara's departure and to signal an "end of an era" for the band's three piece era.
