Earth, Wind & Fire are one of the most dynamic and creative funk bands to come out of the seventies and also one of the most successful. Earth, Wind & Fire was led by Maurice White and this DVD captures them on stage in Japan in 1990 during the last tour that Maurice made with the group following the release of the "Heritage" album. Spectacularly staged as ever, the concert features all their best-loved songs. This all live concert from Japan features: System of Survival, Get Away, September, Fantasy, Shining Star, Kalimba Tree, After the Love Is Gone, For The Love Of You, Reasons, Brazilian Rhyme, Let's Groove and That's The Way of the World. The famed group, featuring the talents of Maurice White, Philip Bailey, and Verdine White perform live from the Tokyo Dome in Japan during their "Heritage" tour. Features some of their greatest hits. His “Isle Of Wight” concert, which is presented on this disc, features many of Jimi’s best material, supported by his “Experience” band, with Billy Cox on bass and Mitch Mitchell on drums. “Freedom”, “Voodoo Chile”, “All Along The Watchtower”, “Red House”, and “Machine Gun” are only a few of the highlights on this disc. During this infamous concert, Jimi was also playing “New Rising Sun” and “Lover Man”, both of which are unfortunately missing from this recording for some reason.

On January 13th 1985, Midnight Oil performed the Oils on the Water concert on Goat Island, Sydney, to celebrate radio Triple-J's tenth birthday, before a select crowd of 400 (half competition winners and half staff, media and friends, though other fans swam across). The concert was simulcast live on ABC TV and Triple J radio, released on video, then later remastered as part of the 2004 Best of Both Worlds DVD set. Oils on the Water was a classic Midnight Oil performance and setting with the band in fine high-energy form, caught in the light of the setting sun, against the backdrop of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Supertramp - BBC in Concert(en)

Over to London this weekend for a concert by 70′s legends Supertramp, recorded by the BBC as part of their Sight and Sound series on November 17, 1977. Forming in 1969, Supertramp quickly rose in popularity and established themselves as one of the most popular of the crossover Art-Rock/mainstream bands. They became a staple on FM and had a string of huge selling singles and albums. Their popularity began to fade in the 1980′s as musical tastes changed with Art-Rock falling out of favor with New Wave. The band eventually went on extended hiatus and reformed later with personnel changes. But there was a time in the mid-seventies where you couldn’t turn on a radio without hearing at least one, if not several Supertramp songs in one sitting; all of which you knew by heart.

Bob Marley & The Wailers - Live In Dortmund Germany 1980(de)

Forty years ago, Bob Marley embarked on a tour of Europe and the United States with The Wailers in support of their Uprising album. The 38-show excursion would be the last for the reggae icon, who succumbed to cancer on May 11, 1981. Marley & The Wailers brought the run to Dortmund, Germany on June 13, 1980 and the concert was filmed for the German live music television program Rockpalast.

Elvis In Concert is a posthumous 1977 TV special starring Elvis Presley. It was Elvis' third and final TV special, following Elvis (aka The '68 Comeback Special) and Aloha From Hawaii. It was filmed during Presley's final tour in the cities of Omaha, Nebraska, on June 19, 1977, and Rapid City, South Dakota, on June 21, 1977. It was shown on CBS on October 3, 1977, two months after Presley died. It is one of the few videos of Elvis which remain unlikely to ever be released for home viewing and is only available in bootleg form.

On July 18th, 2008 Tangerine Dream performed an open air concert as part of the "Night Of The Prog Festival" at the Loreley Rock at the river Rhine in Germany. On this occasion, they released the 'mini cupdisc' Das Romantische Opfer. As most of TD's concerts of recent years, the gig was filmed and finally released at the end of 2008 as Loreley on DVD. The single DVD comes with a four page insert featuring photos of the line-up, credits and the track listing. The animated menu provides the options to play the complete concert as well as to start from individual tracks, to view the credits or a "Behind The Scenes" bonus feature, and to do the audio setup (Stereo 2.0 or Dolby Surround 5.1).

Jean-Michel Jarre - Paris, La Défense(en)

Paris La Defense - Une Ville En Concert was a concert held by musician Jean Michel Jarre on the district of La Défense in Paris on Bastille Day, July 14, 1990. About 2.5 million people standing in front of the pyramidical stage all the way down to the Arc de Triomphe witnessed this event, setting a new Guinness Book of Records entry for Jarre. The concert was funded by Mairie De Paris, Ministry of Culture and a small cluster of high-profile Parisian business concerns. Later, a concert video as well as a photobook of the event were released. The show featured new tracks from the Waiting for Cousteau album, and vast grotesque marionettes created by Trinidadian Peter Minshall.

Circle of Friends is a DVD by Bob Mould of a live concert recorded in 2005 at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. The performance included songs from Mould's earlier bands Hüsker Dü and Sugar, as well as his solo work. This particular show was part of the Body of Song tour, Mould's first non-solo tour for over a decade and the first one in which Hüsker Dü material was played for the first time since the band broke up in 1988.
