2057. More than 25 years have passed since the incident destroyed the planet’s atmosphere. The survivors took refuge in shelters, buried deep into the ground. At surface level LE-E-003976 is gathering data and samples of the toxic environment. To this day he has never come across a single human soul on his predefined path through the bleak wastelands. But today LE-E is not alone.

Crimson Forest(en)

Upon waking up in a strange forest, a young man questions whether or not the environment around him is real or a figment of his imagination.

Wad(en)

The Dutch 'Wad' (coastal mud flats) is a strange place. At low tide, many square miles of mud flats surface between the mainland and the northern islands. The Netherlands grow and shrink with the movement of the moon. Sudden incoming tide make these flats 'sea' again, sometimes drowning hikers by surprise. The Wad does not know what to make of itself. Land, see, mud, ocean floor... Two characters (and their dog) are stranded there in that desolate place. The only dramatic elements in this comical short are the sea, the wind, the sand and a lonely sea gull. Drawn in mud and tar on wet sandpaper.

The Idle Ones(fi)

The Idle Ones is a profile of contemporary affairs - somewhere on the edge of Europe - in a place where unemployment for some young people is fast becoming a way of life. Covering a period of 18 months, the film follows the activities of a group of young men in their 20s who have finished their schooling and stayed in their home village - they loaf about unemployed since they can´t find any work in the remote district. The main characters are more or less idle young fellows whose stories link together and make up the film. Tinged with humour, The Idle Ones is a story about frustrated but vital young people in a period of transition, waiting for something to happen. For some, the waiting is becoming their life.
