13 years ago, director Bob Entrop made the film A piece of blue in the sky, the first film in the Netherlands that depicted the murder of almost 1 million Sinti and Roma during the Second World War. There is a taboo on what happened during the war, you don't talk about it with anyone and certainly not in front of a camera. Requiem for Auschwitz is a sequel, with the most valuable moments from the first film, supplemented with the grandchildren and the creation and performance of the 'Requiem for Auschwitz' by Sinti composer Roger Moreno Rathgeb by the Sinti and Roma Philharmonic from Frankfurt and a Jewish choir in the Berliner Dom in Berlin, during Holocaust Memorial Day. During his visit to Auschwitz in 2020 with four musicians from the Dutch Accompaniment Orchestra, Roger shows them the places that inspired him.

According to UNICEF estimates, the rebels abducted between 35,000 and 66,000 children during this time. They were forcibly recruited as soldiers and sexually enslaved. Tens of thousands of civilians were murdered, mutilated or tortured. Over 90 percent of the population in northern Uganda lived in refugee camps. Although these times are over, many people still suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder. To help them, the animal welfare organization Big Fix is resorting to an unusual means: street dogs. Thousands of stray and often neglected dogs roam Uganda's towns and villages. But it is precisely these animals that can bring comfort to lonely and emotionally distressed people.

On December 10, 1998, Kamel Messaoudi died in a traffic accident at the age of 37, at the height of his fame. In the early 1990s, when Algiers chaâbi was struggling to renew itself and attract young people, Kamel, born on January 30, 1961 in Algiers, into a modest family, achieved great success with his first album, notably featuring Echema’a (the candle) and other tracks where he did not hesitate to shake up the old repertoire, adding his own words, closer to the reality of an Algeria then bereaved by the violence of the dark decade of the 90s, and composing melodies supported by instruments such as the acoustic guitar or the piano.
