Overview:
Cynthia Redfield elopes with Ernest Herrick, against the wishes of her socially ambitious mother and an unscrupulous millionaire, Bronson Gibbs, who has courted Cynthia with his position. Four years later Gibbs plots with Veerah Vale, a Greenwich Village vamp, with whom Ernest becomes involved. In the mountains of West Virginia, Alderson Cree is mortally wounded in an ambush by Kip Ryerson, after Kip's wife, Martha, seeks refuge at the Crees's home for herself and her stepdaughter, Eileen. Cree makes his young son, David, promise to avenge his death once he has grown into manhood. As David Cree runs for help, Alderson recants and instructs Martha Ryerson to release his son from his promise. However, to eliminate her brutal spouse, Martha Ryerson remains silent, and George Hedrick, the local storekeeper, leads a crowd to drive Kip out of town. Hedrick later announces Kip's death, relieving David of his obligation to his father. Years pass, and David, now an adult, is engaged to Mary Reddin. When Kip Ryerson returns to town, David's mother demands that he keep his promise to avenge his father.

A group of boys are playing baseball on a playground, and one of them hits the ball over the fence, breaking the window of a house belonging to a professor. He calls in a repairman, who arrives to fix the window and is admitted by the professor's pretty maid. Attracted to her and wanting to see her again, after he fixes the window he sneaks back to the house that night and breaks it again, hoping she'll call to have him come out and fix it. She does, but it doesn't turn out exactly the way he had hoped.

McWorth leaves some valuable pearls for Radley to steal, but this plan fails, so he arranges for himself, Radley and Dorothy to become stranded on a desert island. Ultimately, Radley proves himself as the better man. After surviving both the elements and McWorth's scheming, he and Dorothy are married. This film is lost.
