Passion concentrates on Grainger's unusual relationship with his mother and his sexual peculiarities (especially his obsessive self-flagellation, though homosexuality is also hinted at) which affect his relationship with a woman who comes to love him. It is set mainly in London in 1914, when Grainger's mother Rose was ill (she would later jump to her death in New York, upset by ill-founded rumours of incest with her son).

Sangokushi 30th Anniversary Concert(ja)

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the "Sangokushi" series, a concert was held at MUZA Kawasaki Symphony Hall on Saturday, April 16, 2016. The Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of conductor Kosuke Yamashita, presented the first full orchestra concert of the "Sangokushi" series, allowing the audience to enjoy the masterpieces of the series.

The Third Part of the Third Measure creates an encounter with the militant minimalism of black avant-garde queer composer, pianist and vocalist Julius Eastman. The film focuses on what The Otolith Group describe as ‘an experience of watching in the key of listening’, invoking political feelings of defiance and the collective practice of movement building that participates in the global struggles against neoreactionary authoritarianism. The Third Part of the Third Measure invites viewers to attend to exemplary ecstatic aesthetics of black radicalism that Eastman himself once described as ‘full of honour, integrity and boundless courage’.

Renowned German trumpeter Reinhold Friedrich, honorary professor at London's Royal Academy of Music, who has collaborated with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestre Philharmonique de la Radio France, among others, has now joined forces with the Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra Ostrava, conducted by its chief conductor H. M. Förster, for his solo project. Their performance in Ostrava included Ernest Bloch's Proclamation for Trumpet and Orchestra and Tomasi's Concerto for Trumpet and Orchestra.
